LONDON, October 17, 2013 Dmitriy Firtash Opens Trading on London Stock Exchang

 London Stock Exchange will be opened by Ukrainian businessman Dmitriy Firtash as part of the event ‘Days of Ukraine in the United Kingdom’, organized in London from 17 to 19 October 2013 by FIRTASH FOUNDATION, a Ukrainian private charitable foundation created by Dmitriy and Lada Firtash.

The grand festival of Ukrainian culture has attracted the British society and support of the United Kingdom at the highest level. The management of the London Stock Exchange has supported the noble and patriotic activity of Dmitriy and Lada Firtash. On the occasion of beginning the ‘Days of Ukraine in the United Kingdom’, London Stock Exchange has invited Dmitriy Firtash to open trading on October 17 with a ceremonial fall of the hammer.

 

 

This invitation is a traditional way of showing respect to the invited person on the part of the management of the Exchange. At various times, the ceremony of opening the trading at the Exchange was attended by the Queen of England, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, famous Russian businessmen Alisher Usmanov, Vagit Alekperov.

 

 

The Master of the ceremony will be Raffaele Jerusalmi, the Executive Director of London Stock Exchange and CEO of Borsa Italiana Stock Exchange (Milan, Italy).

 

 

Upon opening of the trading at 08:00, Raffaele Jerusalmi and Dmitriy Firtash will deliver their salutatory speeches. Then, in the studio of London Stock Exchange, Dmitriy Firtash will answer journalists’ questions.

 

 

London Stock Exchange is one of the largest and oldest exchanges in Europe. It was officially founded in 1801, but its actual history dates back to 1570, when the King’s Financial Agent and Adviser Thomas Gresham created the Royal Exchange at his own expense.
