The Days of Ukraine in the United Kingdom started in London

 The Days of Ukraine in the United Kingdom, a three-day festival of Ukrainian culture, started in London on Thursday. The event is initiated by the Firtash Foundation charity, whose sponsor is Group DF, the group of companies owned by Ukrainian businessman Dmytro Firtash.


The official opening ceremony took place at the British Parliament.

“More than 100 guests – government officials, community and business leaders, media representatives of Great Britain and Ukraine – have gathered together in the walls of the famous Churchill Hall, which hosts meetings of the government and the ruling party of Great Britain. Particularly, the ceremony was attended by Lord Risby, Chairman of the British Ukrainian Society”.

According to Group DF Head of the Board of Directors Dmytro Firtash, “today business is no longer dealing exclusively with itself and began to deal with the issues of its country,” promotion its image worldwide.


 

Within three days in London known Ukrainian artists, designers and best craftsmen will demonstrate the full flavor of Ukraine: its art, classical, ethnic and contemporary music, fashion, cuisine and crafts.

 

President Viktor Yanukovych has sent greetings to the organizers, participants and guests of the festival, in which he expressed confidence that “The Days of Ukraine in the United Kingdom will enable the citizens of this country, an important partner of Ukraine in Europe and the world, to open up a new Ukraine”.
